As part of our External Works Term Contract with Wealden District Council, we won the contract to provide a SANGS (Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space) to mitigate the effects of residential development in Crowborough and to provide an additional recreational area for local residents.
The project involved improvements to the site access and the construction of over 3km of all-weather tracks to encourage all year use for the general public in a zone prohibited to vehicles. All excavated material was carefully spread and levelled on site to reduce the environmental impact of the works.
Additional works involved some drainage improvements and the installation of kissing gates and fencing at access points to the track.
