Following a successful smaller project for the same Client in 2023 and some proactive ECI, Thorne was asked to work alongside Aquatic Control Engineering Ltd on a project to help control the height of the water throughout the Pevensey Levels. The works involved the following:
- Removal and replacement of a 900mm diameter culvert to improve access to the levels
- Construction of temporary cofferdams up- and downstream
- Installation of an over-pumping system to create a dry and safe working area
- Installation of permanent steel sheet piles to accommodate the solar powered automated tilting weirs
- Installation of five new tilting weirs and access steps / bridges.
We had our Board Meeting today and the landowner Board Members were full of praise for you and your team. They said you were quite polite, considerate and helpful.
