The project consisted of all the civils elements required for the installation of a new sludge treatment system at Arlington Water Treatment Works, all as part of the modernisation of aging infrastructure to improve efficiency at one of South East Water’s key facilities.

Key elements of the contract included the construction of the following:

  • 12m x 11m x 5m deep RC Balance Tank
  • RC base for the new Sludge Holding Tank and new hardstanding
  • Interconnecting ductile iron pipework to link up with the existing treatment system
  • Associated plinths and site-wide ducting,
  • Refurbishment of the existing centrifuge building and
  • Widening of the existing access road.
