Brighton Wheel – Brighton, East Sussex
Construction of steel framed ‘Brighton Wheel’ ride adjacent to one of Brighton’s busiest beaches.
The wheel was erected on top of a decaying Victorian amusement arcade requiring significant strengthening of the structure. Large concrete bases were built inside the restricted space of the old arcade and the steel towers then erected to transfer the leg loads from the wheel itself to ground, with the bases on the beach having to be piled through 20m of beach shingle.
The Wheel was erected by a team of Australian specialists, operating under our supervision as Principle Contractor.
