Eye in the Sky at Uckfield WWTW

Thorne has returned to Uckfield WwTW, the scene of one of its largest projects of the 20th Century, to work on the latest extension to the treatment works. Our £2m scope includes the civils operations associated with a power upgrade to the site, new Ferric and Alkalinity Dosing systems, Deep Bed Sand Filters, Pumping Stations, all associated pipework and ducting as well as modifications to existing assets to accommodate the improvements to the treatment process.

Infrastructure Work Starts on Eastbourne’s Iconic Beach Huts

The infrastructure works started this week for Eastbourne Borough Council’s Iconic Beach Huts, five of which will be sited at intervals along Eastbourne seafront. The five designs were chosen from competition entries and planning was approved by Eastbourne’s planning committee in 2016 – Thorne won the contract for the civils works earlier this year.

New Oak Boards at Scotney Castle

Work is complete on the installation of new oak boards around the Mansion paths at Scotney Castle – careful working was required to protect the rare orchids that grow in the surrounding grass, which must not be walked on.
